Bollywood Actors who turned Singers for their Films (Part 1)

If you thought acting is the only talent that some of our Bollywood Actors are blessed with, think again. Not only are they fabulous actors but they can croon & take your breath away too! Cashkaro Tadka brings you a list Bollywood Celebs who took to the singing craze & playbacked for themselves in their movies!

  1. Amitabh Bachchan

First in our list is undoubtedly the irreplaceable Big B. He can act (god of acting, duh!), he can dance, his looks can kill & what’s more? He can sing too, and he’s well brilliant at it. Making his singing debut in Mr. Natwarlal (1979) with the song “Mere Paas Aao Mere Doston” he followed it with a number of memorable songs in his voice like “Main Yahaan Tu Wahaan” & “Holi Khele Raghuveera” from Baghban, “Rang Barse” & “Neela Aasman” from Silsila, “Mere Angne Mein” from Laawaris, etc.

  1. Sridevi

Popularly known as the Hawaa Hawaai girl of Bollywood but not many know that this South Indian beauty has also playbacked for herself in Yash Chopra’s popular movie Chandni (1989). Singing alongside Jolly Mukherjee, Sridevi lent her voice to the title song of the movie, “Chandni O Meri Chandni”.

  1. Shahrukh Khan

Even the Baadshah of Bollywood had to give into the temptation! He debuted as a singer with the hugely popular “Apun Bola Tu Meri Laila” from the movie Josh (2000). He followed it up with a poem in Jab Tak Hai Jaan and now in his upcoming movie Happy New Year.

  1. Kareena Kapoor Khan

From being a Kapoor to becoming a size zero figure, Bebo has always been in headlines. But what many people apart from her hardcore fans don’t know is that she has playbacked for herself too. “Jab Nahi Aaye The Tum” from the movie Dev (2004) is sung entirely by her.

  1. Aamir Khan

Who does not remember the cult “Aati Kya Khandala” song from Ghulam (1998)? It’s not only one of the most popular songs of Bollywood but till date, it’s used as a pick-up line in various movies too. Aamir’s voice suited the song to the T & he garnered great appreciation for the same.

  1. Juhi Chawla

This former Miss India is an accomplished classical singer and has been training for many years now. She gave her vocals for the song “Chalo Jaane Do” in the movie Bhoothnath and was praised too.

  1. Salman Khan

Sallu truly knows how to live upto his Dabangg image & take chances irrespective of what the outcome is. Just like he did with trying to go behind the mike. He first sang the song “Chandi Ki Daal Par Sone Ka Mor” in his home production Hello Brother (1999) and followed up with the title song of Chal Mere Bhai alongside with Sanjay Dutt.

  1. Madhuri Dixit

Famous for her exceptional dancing abilities, this evergreen beauty sang a song in her recent movie, “Gulaab Gang”. But she created waves with the widely popular “Kaahe Ched Mohe” from Devdas (2002) which saw the diva dancing and crooning to her own voice.

  1. Abhishek Bachchan

From venturing into Bollywood & then going onto sing for himself, Junior B has definitely been following his father’s footsteps. Abhishek showed his rapping skills with the hugely popular “Right Here Right Now” from the movie Bluffmaster (2005). He repeated the same with “Isko Buddhi Do Bhagwaan” from Players.

  1. Alia Bhatt

Earlier this year, newbie Alia Bhatt not only gave an outstanding performance in the movie Highway but showcased her amazing singing skills in it too with the song “Sooha Saaha”.

Hope you guys enjoyed reading the feature. Stay tuned for Part 2 kyunki Picture abhi baaki hai mere doston ;)
